Animal Guidance Cards
There is no one right way to use the cards. Let them speak to you. You may ask an open-ended question before shuffling and pulling a card. Or simply look through the deck and find the card that draws you in.
Consider taking a moment to center yourself, notice your breath, and pause. What is arising in you at this moment? What is most alive? Do you have an open ended question about an aspect of your life that feels unanswered? Sit with these thoughts and questions, shuffle the cards, turn a card over, and let it speak to you.
Some possible questions you may want to ask are - What do the guides want to tell me right now? What do I need to focus on? What blessings are on offer (or what may I be overlooking)?
Before you dive into reading what is written, I encourage you to sit with the cards you pull. Take In the images and words and what you notice. How do you respond? what is arising in you at this moment? What sensations, thoughts and feelings are most alive as you see the images and read the words on the card?
Can you accept the message with ease, or do you want to shuffle and pull another card?
Some people choose to turn over a new card each day. Some sit with the same card for many days, until they feel they are ready for a new message. What is right for you?
There are many ways to interact with these cards. There is information in all that you perceive. And if you feel the need for extra guidance from the animals, find your card(s) and read on.
How to use the cards...
Getting to know the guides as you work with the cards...
One guide at a time
All of the guides together
With the deck still divided into four groups by animal guides, focus on a question and turn over a card from each stack.
How do the messages compliment or contradict themselves? Perhaps the different cards relate to different aspects of yourself, your life or the question you hold.
Over time this way of relating to the Animal Guides may help you recognize their different qualities and how they are present with you.
Each of the four guides have distinct personalities, qualities and ways of communicating.
Instead of asking a specific question and shuffling the whole deck, you may want to divide the deck into four piles, each containing the twelve cards of Big Elk, Grandmother Spider, Sister Duck , and Snakey. Choose one guide and dedicate the next twelve days, or month, or any amount of time that calls you, to work with that guide.
Sit with the cards, center your intentions and pull a card. This is a good time to ask the question - What does this guide want me to know? You may also want to contemplate who is this guide and what can I learn about them?
Even if you dedicate 12 days to one guide, if you shuffle the cards each day you may find that you pull only one or a few of the cards. Let the message soak in! If you want a different experience, shuffle the deck once, and then pull a new card each day until you have moved through the entire stack. Let the cards be your meditation, and the animals your guide.
Your curiosity can be the doorway to new insights.
Allow your curiosity to be the doorway into new insights.

Animal Guidance Cards Origin Story
Started upon a mountain top in California, the Animal Guidance Cards came into being, bringing healing, joy, transformation and insight. Each Animal had its own demeanor and way of communicating. Big Elk, steady and grounded, helped begin this journey, one card at a time. Sister Duck, bounding with joyful energy and curiosity, was at times impatient and would come with waves of information for the next card before the last one was done. Snakey would alternate between lightning quick movement and deep stillness. Multiple cards came through all at once. Snakey also brought transformation to the forefront, including a cross country move! Grandmother Spider was quiet and patient, dispensing her wisdom one card at a time. She brought the wisdom needed to finish the oracle amongst the verdant green of New York.
